The Beast of Gevaudan Banner

Rough terraine where La Bette prowled during the day

Location, where La Bette lived

AuvergneThe Province of Gevaudan was disovled after the French Revolution. In the Province of Auvergne, in Lozere between several small towns including Mende and Mt. Lozere is where the killings took place.

The terraine is volcanic rock, rough with boggy areas in low spots where La Bete frequently lost her persuers.
